Mohamed Salah has been voted the Professional Footballers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year for the 2024/25 season, becoming the first footballer to claim the award three times. The Egypt international scored 34 goals and provided 19 assists in all competitions, including 29 league strikes that propelled Liverpool to the Premier League title. Salah beat fellow nominees Bruno Fernandes, Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Cole Palmer and Declan Rice in the ballot of top-flight players. His latest honour adds to Golden Boot and leading assist awards collected during the campaign. Arsenal forward Mariona Caldentey captured the Women’s Player of the Year crown after netting 19 goals and guiding the club to its first Women’s Champions League triumph. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was recognised as Men’s Young Player of the Year, while Liverpool winger Olivia Smith—who has since joined Arsenal in a record transfer—took the women’s youth prize. The PFA Premier League Team of the Year features four Liverpool players, three from Arsenal, two representing Nottingham Forest and one each from Bournemouth-signing Milos Kerkez—named for his work at the south-coast club—and Newcastle United. Salah heads the XI alongside Newcastle striker Alexander Isak and Forest forward Chris Wood.
