The Professional Footballers’ Association unveiled its six-player shortlist for the 2025 PFA Player of the Year award on 19 August. The nominees are Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah. Players and presenters—including Salah, Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk and broadcasters Jules Breach and Dave Jones—arrived on the red carpet ahead of the awards ceremony later in the evening. The winner, decided by votes from fellow professionals across England’s top divisions, is expected to be announced during the event.
