Tesla has widened international trials of its driver-assistance software, confirming on 23 July that "Full Self-Driving (Supervised)" is now being tested on public roads in London. The United Kingdom pilot follows a 17 July video that showed the system navigating inner-city traffic in Sydney, and adds to existing trials in Paris, Rome and other European capitals. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk told analysts the company is "close to getting approval" in the Netherlands and expects at least partial European Union clearance for FSD this quarter. Musk said European vehicle deliveries should improve once buyers can access the software and reiterated that Tesla is working to overcome regulatory hurdles for a broader rollout in China later this year. Despite the global push, Musk disclosed that roughly half of Tesla owners who could use FSD have never activated the function. The company is exploring onboarding tools to boost adoption while its Shanghai factory continues to serve as the primary export hub for Asia-Pacific markets and preparations continue for a mainland Chinese release.
