7-Eleven is celebrating its 98th anniversary on Friday, July 11—the calendar date that mirrors its name—by offering a free small Slurpee to customers at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores across the United States. The annual promotion, in place since 2002, runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time and is limited to one 12-ounce drink per customer while supplies last. Shoppers who scan their 7Rewards or Speedy Rewards membership during the visit will receive a digital coupon for a second complimentary Slurpee that can be redeemed through July 31. Loyalty members at selected outlets can also pick up edible “Tongue-toos,” temporary tongue tattoos that reveal the brand’s “S” logo in blue, green, red or purple after sipping the frozen beverage. Additional incentives include the return of the limited-time Mountain Dew Infinite Swirl flavor, limited-edition cups and a $7.11 discount on delivery orders of $20 or more placed through the 7NOW app. The retailer is also running a daily $5,000 sweepstakes in its mobile apps through early January 2026. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, 7-Eleven opened its first store in Dallas in 1927 and now counts more than 13,000 locations in the United States and Canada, part of a global network of roughly 85,000 outlets. The Slurpee, introduced in 1966, remains one of the chain’s signature offerings.
