Elon Musk’s Neuralink forecasts that it will generate at least $1 billion in annual revenue by 2031, according to internal projections reported Wednesday. The company expects to reach the target by implanting its brain-computer interface devices in about 20,000 people each year. Neuralink, founded in 2016, is developing surgically implanted chips designed to translate neural activity into digital signals, with potential applications ranging from treating paralysis to enabling direct interaction with computers. The firm began human trials earlier this year after receiving clearance from U.S. regulators.
