Neuralink, the neurotechnology company founded by Elon Musk, has successfully implanted its "Telepathy" brain chip in nine human participants as of late July 2025. The company recently completed two surgeries in a single day, marking a first in its clinical trial process. Neuralink has received regulatory approval to expand its clinical trials beyond the United States to include Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. The company plans to implant the brain chip in an additional 11 participants by the end of 2025, aiming for a total of 20 human subjects. The Barrow Neurological Institute has confirmed the number of patients implanted with Neuralink's N1 brain implant, underscoring the progress in the trial phase of this brain-computer interface technology.
