Coldplay frontman Chris Martin on 14 July denied that he intended to slight Toronto’s newly christened Rogers Stadium after twice referring to it as a “weird stadium in the middle of nowhere” during the band’s four-night run. In a video message before the penultimate show, Martin said he was "grateful" for the venue and for fans who made the trip, stressing that his earlier words were meant as thanks rather than criticism. The remarks rekindled scrutiny of the 50,000-seat open-air stadium at Downsview Park, which opened last month. Concertgoers at the inaugural Stray Kids show reported exit delays of up to two hours, and some Coldplay fans said they were held inside for about 40 minutes after the performance ended, despite improvements promised by the operator. Promoter Live Nation Canada said it has reconfigured exit routes, added staff, signage and lighting, and is working with city transit and emergency services to manage crowds. The revamped measures will face another test when K-pop group Blackpink brings two back-to-back shows to the venue on 22–23 July.
