Interpol and the European Union’s law enforcement agency coordinated an international operation named "Global Chain" targeting human trafficking networks across 43 countries. The operation involved 15,000 officers and resulted in the arrest of 158 suspects. Authorities rescued approximately 1,194 to 1,200 victims, many of whom were subjected to sexual exploitation, forced criminality, and forced begging. The operation also included arrests and victim rescues in multiple countries, with some victims freed from being recruited in their countries of origin. Separately, in Ontario, Canada, law enforcement reported that over 1,100 men inquired about sex with minors during a police sting. Additionally, a man in Ontario was convicted and given a conditional sentence of two years less a day for failing to use a condom during a sexual encounter, despite his partner’s explicit condition that one be used.
