China is preparing for a large-scale military parade in Beijing on September 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The event, marking the second such parade since 2015, will showcase the country's latest advancements in military technology and modernization efforts. Over 10,000 troops are expected to participate, along with more than 100 aircraft and several hundred ground military vehicles, all domestically produced and currently active in China's armed forces. The parade will feature new-generation weapons including hypersonic and supersonic anti-ship missiles such as the YJ-15, YJ-17, YJ-19, and YJ-20, as well as XL underwater drones, laser tanks, and AI drones. The formations will be arranged to reflect real combat functions, emphasizing China's military readiness. Preparations have included multiple rehearsals and training sessions, with troops practicing precise marching maneuvers. The parade aims to demonstrate China's commitment to peace, sovereignty, security, and international fairness and justice, while also projecting its growing military strength amid ongoing geopolitical tensions with the United States and neighboring countries. The event will also include the largest military band in the history of Chinese military parades, composed of over 1,000 People's Liberation Army officers and soldiers. The parade is expected to last approximately 70 minutes and will take place in Tian'anmen Square and surrounding central Beijing areas, which have been closed off for rehearsals. Additionally, an art exhibition titled "The People Will Prevail" opened in Beijing to commemorate the anniversary, featuring over 300 artworks celebrating unity and the historical victory. The media center for the commemorative events will open on August 27 to facilitate coverage of the parade and related activities.
