China’s Foreign Ministry said Premier Li Qiang will travel to Rio de Janeiro from 5–8 July to take part in the 17th BRICS Summit. The gathering will bring together leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa to discuss economic cooperation and global governance priorities. After the summit, Li will pay an official visit to Egypt on 9–10 July at the invitation of Prime Minister Mostafa Kamal Madbouly. Foreign-ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said Beijing aims to deepen the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership and use the BRICS meeting to strengthen collaboration among emerging economies.
