Recent images and reports have provided new insights into the Chinese aircraft carrier CNS Shandong and its onboard equipment. The carrier features J-15T carrier-based multirole fighters armed with PL-12A air-to-air missiles, as well as Z-9 multi-purpose helicopters. A J-20S stealth fighter was also observed preparing for a parade, while the J-20A model has been noted for its dark gray paint scheme, 360-degree Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS), and a tail number placement different from earlier versions. The J-20A does not appear to be powered by the WS-15 engine. Additionally, the Shandong's personnel use a color-coded 'Rainbow Personnel' system, details of which were revealed by a training demonstrator. The carrier has attracted public interest, with young students in Hong Kong touring the vessel and experiencing its powerful aircraft elevator. These developments highlight ongoing advancements in China's naval aviation capabilities.
