In the second quarter of 2025, Google removed nearly 11,000 YouTube channels and associated accounts linked to state-sponsored propaganda campaigns, according to its quarterly transparency report. Among these, more than 7,700 channels were tied to China, with others connected to Russia and additional countries. Earlier in the year, Google also took down 20 YouTube channels, four ad accounts, and one Blogger blog linked to the Russian state media outlet RT. Overall, in 2025, YouTube has taken down approximately 34,000 channels identified as foreign propaganda campaigns.
