Central China is facing severe flooding and casualties following torrential rains in Henan and Hubei provinces. In Xixia County, Nanyang city, Henan Province, two people have died and six remain missing due to extreme rainfall and subsequent flooding, according to local emergency authorities. In Hubei Province, Xianfeng County experienced a record summer downpour, receiving over a month's worth of rain within 12 hours. This prompted authorities to evacuate 18,000 residents, close schools, and suspend bus services. The flooding has caused widespread damage and disruption in urban areas, with ongoing rescue operations reported in affected locations.
