Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a written message to the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, which opened in Beijing on 10 July and runs through 11 July under the theme “Safeguarding Diversity of Human Civilizations for World Peace and Development.” Xi’s letter says China is prepared to work with other nations to create a global network for dialogue and cooperation, underscoring the principles of equality, mutual learning, dialogue and inclusiveness. He called the exchange of civilizations essential to world peace and development and urged participants to put the Global Civilization Initiative into practice. The two-day conference, co-hosted by the Publicity Department and the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has drawn more than 600 representatives from 140 countries and regions.
