California authorities are conducting parallel investigations into two missing-infant cases reported days apart. In San Bernardino County, detectives are still searching for seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro, whose mother said he was abducted outside a Big 5 Sporting Goods store in Yucaipa on Aug. 14. Investigators say Rebecca Haro’s account contains “inconsistencies,” and both parents have since stopped cooperating. The Sheriff’s Department has served multiple search warrants, brought in cadaver dogs to examine the family’s Cabazon residence and surrounding areas, and is reviewing surveillance footage. Foul play has not been ruled out. Complicating the probe, the boy’s father, Jake Haro, served 180 days in jail after a 2023 felony conviction for willful child cruelty. The couple’s two-year-old was removed from the home as a precaution. Officials urge anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division at 909-890-4904. In an unrelated case 400 miles north, San Francisco police are looking for a seven-day-old baby girl deemed at high risk of neglect. The infant was last seen on Aug. 18 leaving a Target store on Geary Boulevard with her mother, 33-year-old Kenisha Davis. SFPD has released photographs and asked the public to call 911 immediately with sightings, as Child Protective Services assists in the search.
