Las Vegas police conducted a coordinated DUI enforcement operation over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, resulting in nearly 70 DUI arrests and approximately 473 to 500 citations issued across the Las Vegas valley. The effort, described as a "DUI Super Blitz," involved officers from all area commands of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the LVMPD Traffic Division, and dispatch, working in collaboration with the Henderson Police Department, Boulder City Police, Nevada State Police, and phlebotomists. In total, the operation led to around 75 arrests, including seven additional arrests beyond the DUI-related ones, aimed at enhancing road safety during the holiday period.
