A high-speed police chase involving multiple carjackings unfolded in Los Angeles on Sunday night, August 10, 2025. Two suspects reportedly carjacked four vehicles, including a tanker truck and a big rig, during the pursuit. The chase began around 2:22 a.m. when the driver struck an unmarked, off-duty deputy's car and then collided with another civilian vehicle while attempting to flee. The suspects led law enforcement on a dangerous pursuit across multiple counties, at one point driving the stolen big rig in the wrong direction on the freeway. The chase ended in the Mid-City area after the suspect's vehicle mounted the curb. California Highway Patrol officers used beanbag rounds to disable the suspect, who was then taken into custody.
