Ark Invest, led by CEO Cathie Wood, is exploring the possibility of tokenizing some of its funds, such as the Venture Fund (ARKVX) or the Digital Asset Revolution Fund, once U.S. regulations permit. Wood expressed this intention at the Digital Asset Summit in New York, highlighting the growing trend of asset tokenization. Wood's comments come at a time when other major players in the financial sector, like Coinbase, are also considering similar moves in the tokenization space, awaiting a clearer regulatory framework from U.S. authorities. Coinbase has been in talks with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) about issuing a security token, while BlackRock CEO Larry Fink has expressed interest in tokenizing assets. In addition to her focus on tokenization, Wood discussed economic forecasts, predicting a rolling recession with potential negative quarters ahead. She also maintained her bold prediction that Bitcoin could reach $1.5 million by 2030, citing the current risk-off period but a continued bullish market for Bitcoin. Wood referenced the Truflation indicator, suggesting that it could lead to 2 to 3 rate cuts by the Federal Reserve this year. Ark Invest has been actively adjusting its portfolio, with recent trades including buying and selling stocks such as $IRDM, $GTLB, $META, $ANSS, $AMD, $CRSP, $TXG, $NTLA, $PACB, $RXRX, $PRME, $PATH, $ILMN, and $RPTX. Notably, the firm has reduced its stake in Meta Platforms Inc., signaling a shift in its investment strategy. Wood also highlighted the potential of stablecoins as an entry point into decentralized finance (DeFi).
