European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said Monday that the bloc has begun work on a 19th package of sanctions aimed at Russia, underscoring that no concessions should be made to Moscow until it agrees to a full and unconditional cease-fire in Ukraine. Kallas outlined a three-pronged approach that couples additional economic penalties with stepped-up military aid and budgetary support for Kyiv, as well as assistance in Ukraine’s bid to join the EU. She stressed that transatlantic unity remains essential to sustaining pressure on the Kremlin and ending the war.
