Honor has begun European sales of its Magic V5 foldable, extending availability beyond Asia and positioning the handset as a direct challenger to Samsung and Google in the high-end foldable market. The device debuts in the UK at £1,699 and across the European Union at €1,999 for the 16 GB/512 GB configuration, with deliveries scheduled to start in September. At 8.8 millimetres when closed and 4.1 millimetres when open, the Magic V5 is one of the thinnest book-style foldables yet. It houses a 6.43-inch external OLED panel and a 7.95-inch LTPO OLED inner screen, both capable of up to 120 Hz refresh and peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The handset runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with a 5,820 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 66 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. Honor promises a 0-to-50 % top-up in about 20 minutes using the in-box 66 W adapter. A triple-camera array combines a 50 MP main sensor, 50 MP ultra-wide and 64 MP 3× periscope telephoto, while dual 20 MP selfie cameras sit on each display. The chassis carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, and the company commits to seven years of Android and security updates under its MagicOS 9 software.
