The 2025-26 Ligue 2 season began with a frenetic 3-3 draw between En Avant Guingamp and newly promoted Le Mans FC on Saturday at the Roudourou. Midfielder Edwin Quarshie opened the scoring after 18 minutes with a volley that registered as the first goal of the French second-tier campaign, and the visitors doubled their advantage before half-time. Guingamp rallied after the interval, pulling a goal back in the 72nd minute and appearing to complete the turnaround when defender Louis Mafouta struck in the 99th minute for a 3-2 lead. The drama continued, however, as Le Mans equalised barely a minute later, leaving both sides to share the points. Le Mans captain Antonhy Ribelin said the result underlined his team’s refusal to give up, while Guingamp rued missed chances to seal victory earlier. The six-goal thriller sets an early benchmark for entertainment as Ligue 2 embarks on its new season.
