French authorities have arrested two men in connection with the discovery of four bodies in the Seine River near Choisy-le-Roi, a suburb of Paris. The first suspect, a 24-year-old homeless man of North African descent, was taken into custody following investigations that utilized geolocation and surveillance footage. He is suspected of the murders of all four victims, who include three men of African descent and one North African. Prosecutors have requested that this primary suspect be formally charged with four counts of murder. The investigation, led by the Paris criminal brigade and the Créteil public prosecutor's office, is exploring the possibility of a serial killer motive, with indications that the crimes may have been homophobic in nature. The suspect remained silent during his 96-hour custody period. A second man has also been placed under judicial custody, though his connection to the case remains under investigation. The victims were found on August 13, and the inquiry continues to examine the relationships between the suspects and victims, as well as the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Authorities are conducting further searches for potential additional victims and are focused on a squat near the Seine as part of their investigation.
