On the evening of July 4, 2025, Soraya Riffy, a Marseille-based influencer with over a million Instagram followers, was violently assaulted during a home invasion at her apartment in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille. Three armed individuals forcibly entered her residence, binding and beating her for approximately 90 minutes. During the attack, she was reportedly doused with bleach, which authorities suspect was used to eliminate DNA evidence. Riffy sustained multiple injuries, including fractures, and was possibly raped while unconscious. She has filed a complaint for robbery with violence and rape. Her lawyer described the attack as barbaric and called for the swift arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. The case is under investigation by the Marseille judicial police. Riffy, who is also known as a nurse and model and gained public attention in 2016 following an incident on the television show TPMP, has expressed her intention to leave Marseille and withdraw from social media following the trauma.
