Tadej Pogacar claimed the fourth stage of the 2025 Tour de France on Tuesday, sprinting past overall leader Mathieu van der Poel in Rouen to register the 100th victory of his professional career. The 26-year-old Slovenian world champion covered the 174.2-kilometre route from Amiens to Rouen ahead of Van der Poel, while two-time Tour winner Jonas Vingegaard finished third. The medium-mountain stage included five categorised climbs, but the decisive move came on the flat run-in when Pogacar launched a late acceleration that Van der Poel, still in the yellow jersey, could not match. The result gives Pogacar his 27th Grand Tour stage win—18 of them at the Tour de France—and his first triumph in this year’s race. The victory strengthens Pogacar’s bid for a fourth overall Tour title and puts added pressure on chief rival Vingegaard as the peloton heads into the remaining stages of the opening week.
