The Greek government has introduced a new regulation targeting so-called "eternal students" at public universities. During a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion, officials discussed measures to address more than 35,000 long-enrolled but still active students. The new provision offers these students a final opportunity to graduate before the first dismissals are implemented in September 2025. This initiative aims to begin clearing university records of inactive students and improve the overall management of higher education institutions in Greece.
