MSG Networks has promoted longtime radio analyst Dave Maloney to lead television analyst for New York Rangers games beginning with the 2025-26 NHL season. He succeeds Joe Micheletti, who is retiring after nearly two decades in the role, and will work alongside play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert, his former radio partner. The move completes a wholesale refresh of the Rangers’ broadcast booth that started last year when Albert replaced veteran broadcaster Sam Rosen on television. Maloney, 68, has spent the past 20 seasons on MSG’s radio call and previously captained the Rangers at age 22, still the youngest in franchise history. MSG Networks said the appointment aligns with the club’s forthcoming centennial celebrations. Maloney’s on-ice résumé includes 605 games with the Rangers from 1974-85 and appearances in the 1979 Stanley Cup Final, giving the broadcast a familiar voice as the organization marks 100 years.
