The Nashville Predators have signed defenseman Nick Perbix to a two-year, $5.5 million contract that carries a $2.75 million average annual value, the club confirmed Tuesday. Perbix, 27, spent the past two seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he registered six goals and 13 assists over 74 regular-season games in 2024-25 and added one assist in five playoff appearances. His new deal represents a sizable raise from the $1.125 million cap hit he carried with Tampa Bay. General Manager Barry Trotz has been seeking a right-shot blueliner, and the 6-foot-2 Minnesota native is expected to bolster Nashville’s second or third pairing while contributing to the penalty kill. Drafted 169th overall by the Lightning in 2017, Perbix has totaled 63 points in 220 NHL games and four assists across 13 postseason contests.
