The Utah Mammoth continued to fill out their inaugural National Hockey League roster on the opening day of free agency, announcing three one-year signings. Goaltender Vitek Vanecek agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.5 million, giving the expansion club an experienced option in net after a season in which he posted a 3.18 goals-against average and .890 save percentage for New Jersey. Utah also added depth with a pair of identical one-year, two-way deals for $775,000 at the NHL level, bringing in defenseman Scott Perunovich and forward Kailer Yamamoto. Perunovich appeared in 60 games for St. Louis last season, while Yamamoto split time between Seattle and its AHL affiliate. The moves signal Utah’s intent to bolster both its NHL lineup and organizational depth ahead of its first season since relocating from Arizona.
