A coach with Ukrainian registration overturned early Sunday between the central Hungarian towns of Kunszentmárton and Tiszaföldvár, injuring 19 of the 77 people on board, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. Seventeen of the injured are children and four are reported to be in serious condition. Hungarian rescue services transported the casualties to nearby hospitals, while the remaining 49 passengers were given temporary accommodation and meals. Ukrainian Ambassador Fedir Shandor and consular staff travelled to the site to coordinate assistance and liaise with local authorities. Hungarian officials have opened an investigation into the cause of the crash, which occurred under what Ukrainian diplomats described as “unknown circumstances.” The incident follows several recent road accidents involving Ukrainian buses elsewhere in Europe, including separate crashes in Romania and Germany earlier this month.
