At least seven people were killed and more than 30 injured when a mini bus overturned near Sagran village on the Dasuya–Hajipur road in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district on Monday morning, local authorities said. Dasuya police said the vehicle appears to have collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle between 9:30 and 10 a.m., after which it skidded out of control and flipped onto its side. District Collector Aashika Jain told reporters that rescue crews used heavy equipment to free passengers trapped in the wreckage. The injured were first taken to the civil hospital in Dasuya, with several later referred to Amritsar for advanced treatment. Police have opened an investigation focused on vehicle speed and possible driver negligence. Local media initially reported up to 10 deaths and about two dozen injuries; officials said casualty figures could change as critically injured passengers are still being treated.
