India’s Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Cooperative and Employment Festival (Sahkarita Evam Rozgar Utsav) in Dadiya village on the outskirts of Jaipur on Thursday. The event is part of nationwide activities marking the United Nations-declared International Year of Co-operatives. Shah was joined by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and other state officials at the gathering, which highlighted the role of co-operatives in boosting rural employment and local entrepreneurship. Organisers said the festival aims to showcase successful cooperative models and link job seekers with opportunities in agriculture, dairy and handicraft sectors.
