A major fire broke out at Vishal Mega Mart in Delhi's Karol Bagh area on the evening of July 4, 2025. Firefighting operations involved around 13 to 15 fire tenders and continued for over 12 hours before the blaze was fully controlled. During the incident, two bodies were recovered from the building. One of the deceased was identified as Kumar Dhirender Pratap Singh, a 25-year-old man who was found trapped and died of suffocation inside a lift. The Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and launched an investigation into the fire. Authorities and fire services responded promptly after receiving the emergency call at 6:44 pm. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed yet, and rescue efforts were ongoing for several hours following the outbreak.
