India today opened the Dholpur Science Centre in Rajasthan, its first such facility established under the Department of Biotechnology’s Vigyan Setu initiative. Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh inaugurated the hub, which was set up by the National Institute of Immunology to foster research awareness and hands-on learning among students and young innovators. The minister said the centre forms part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader “aspirational districts” programme aimed at accelerating development in historically underserved areas. Officials describe the centre as a Youth Innovation Hub that will offer laboratory space, mentorship and outreach to promote scientific temperament across the region.
