India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a criminal case against Reliance Communications Ltd (RCOM), its former director Anil D. Ambani, and several others following a complaint lodged by the State Bank of India (SBI) regarding a bank fraud amounting to ₹2,929 crore. The CBI conducted searches at premises linked to RCOM and Anil Ambani in Mumbai as part of the investigation. Both Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Power shares fell by 5% amid the probe, although the companies assured investors that their operations remained unaffected. Separately, India's Supreme Court has ordered a special investigation into Vantara Greens Zoological Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, a wildlife project founded by Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani, Asia's richest person. The probe addresses allegations of unlawful animal acquisitions, mistreatment, and financial misconduct related to the private zoo located in Jamnagar. While the court noted that some allegations of mistreatment lacked supporting evidence, it nonetheless established a special investigating team to examine the multiple claims against the facility.
