Gandhi Links Modi Silence on Trump Tariffs to Adani US Probe

Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has avoided publicly challenging former US president Donald Trump’s threats of additional tariffs on India because the Adani Group is under investigation in the United States. Gandhi argued that Modi fears Trump could reveal financial links between the government and the conglomerate led by billionaire Gautam Adani. Gandhi made the comments shortly after appearing in a Chaibasa district court, where he was granted bail in a defamation case stemming from remarks he made at a 2018 rally that allegedly targeted Home Minister Amit Shah. The Jharkhand High Court had ordered Gandhi to present himself before the district judge.
