India’s Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Rahul R. Singh, said Beijing provided Islamabad with real-time intelligence during the four-day Operation Sindoor clash in May, enabling Pakistani commanders to track key Indian ‘vectors’ even as director-level cease-fire talks were under way. Speaking at a defence-industry forum in New Delhi on 4 July, Singh described the conflict as a live testing ground for Chinese weaponry and warned that India effectively faced “one border, three adversaries,” with Pakistan in the lead and China and Turkey in supporting roles. Singh cited data showing that 81 percent of Pakistan’s military hardware now comes from China and detailed Turkish support that included Bayraktar drones and trained personnel. The officer said the use of missiles, drones and artillery by both sides made the engagement the most intense since the 1971 war, underscoring the urgency of strengthening India’s air-defence, counter-drone and C4ISR systems before any future escalation threatens population centres. Neither Beijing nor Islamabad immediately commented on the allegations, and Turkey has not responded to requests for clarification. The remarks are the most explicit public confirmation by a senior Indian commander of foreign involvement in the May hostilities, and they are likely to sharpen New Delhi’s focus on indigenous defence production and the emerging two-front security challenge along its western and northern borders.
