The Indian Premier League’s enterprise value climbed 12.9% to $18.5 billion in 2025, cementing its status as cricket’s most lucrative competition, according to Houlihan Lokey’s annual IPL Brand Valuation Study released this week. The US investment bank also pegged the league’s combined franchise brand value at $3.9 billion, a 13.8% increase from a year earlier. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, fresh from claiming their first championship, emerged as the wealthiest franchise with an estimated brand valuation of $269 million, surpassing Mumbai Indians at $242 million and Chennai Super Kings at $235 million. The study says valuations across all 10 teams rose on the back of record media-rights fees, diversified sponsorships and growing international viewership. Houlihan Lokey analyst Harsh Talikoti described the IPL as “a global phenomenon” that continues to attract investors and advertisers. The report noted the 2025 final drew more than 678 million views on the JioHotstar streaming platform, underscoring the league’s expanding digital reach and its contribution to India’s wider sports economy.
