The Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission in Telangana has issued a legal notice to Telugu film star Mahesh Babu over his past endorsement of Sai Surya Developers, a Hyderabad-based real-estate company under investigation for alleged fraud. According to the complaint, a local doctor paid Rs 34.8 lakh for plots advertised in the developer’s Green Meadows project that allegedly did not exist. The complainant argues that the actor’s role as brand ambassador lent credibility to the project and influenced her purchase decision. Mahesh Babu is named as the third respondent alongside Sai Surya Developers and its owner, Kancharla Satish Chandra Gupta. The Enforcement Directorate questioned the actor in April 2025 as part of a separate money-laundering inquiry into the Surana Group and Sai Surya Developers; authorities at the time said he was not an accused and appeared unaware of any wrongdoing. Mahesh Babu has not publicly commented on the new consumer-protection notice.
