Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on 11 July chaired the inaugural Governing Council meeting of the National Cadet Corps Alumni Association (NCCAA) at South Block in New Delhi. Senior officials from the Army, the National Cadet Corps and the Ministry of Defence, along with Bharatiya Janata Party MP Manoj Tiwari, joined the session. In his remarks, Singh said the NCC serves as a model platform for shaping youth and urged the council to extend the programme’s values to young people who have not been able to join the organisation.
