Bollywood actor-producer Salman Khan has confirmed that Chitrangda Singh will star opposite him in “Battle of Galwan,” a war drama to be directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The casting, announced on 10 July, marks the first on-screen collaboration between Khan and Singh and Lakhia’s return to large-scale action filmmaking. Set against the June 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh, the film aims to dramatise the events in the Galwan Valley that claimed the lives of 20 Indian soldiers. In a statement, Lakhia said Singh brings “a unique combination of strength and sensitivity that will complement Salman Sir’s brooding yet quiet resolve.” Production is scheduled to begin later this year in Mumbai and on location in Ladakh, with Salman Khan Films backing the project. Budget and release plans have not been disclosed, but industry analysts expect the picture to be one of the Hindi film industry’s highest-profile releases of 2026.
