India’s Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) said Aadhaar number holders completed 229.33 crore authentication transactions in June 2025, a 7.8% increase from the same month a year earlier. The figure marks the strongest monthly total recorded so far and lifts cumulative authentications carried out since the system’s launch to more than 15,452 crore. Digital customer-onboarding continued to accelerate, with e-KYC checks reaching 39.47 crore in June. Adoption of UIDAI’s AI-based face-authentication tool also gained pace, registering 15.87 crore transactions during the month compared with 4.61 crore a year ago. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said the latest data underline Aadhaar’s expanding role in India’s digital economy, supporting welfare transfers, banking, telecom services and other public- and private-sector applications.
