Aadhaar for children: Free update window for ages 5-7! ‘May be deactivated…’ – What UIDAI urged parents https://t.co/Dj1ZdtvJl4
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued an advisory urging parents and guardians to update the Aadhaar biometrics of children aged between 5 and 7 years. The biometric update, which includes fingerprints and iris scans, is mandatory for children once they reach the age of seven to ensure uninterrupted access to services such as school admissions, entrance examinations, scholarships, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes. UIDAI has emphasized that this update is free of charge for children within the 5 to 7 age group. Failure to complete the biometric update may result in the deactivation of the child's Aadhaar number. The authority has called for prompt compliance to avoid any disruption in the benefits linked to Aadhaar.
