Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday flagged off the first batch of 45 pilgrims undertaking the annual Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, starting from the Tourist Rest House in Tanakpur, Champawat district. The group arrived late Friday and was formally welcomed before departing by bus for the next stage of the journey. This is the first year the pilgrimage begins from Tanakpur rather than its traditional launch point in Khatima, with the return leg planned through Almora. Dhami said the state government is working to provide seamless logistics and safety arrangements for the participants on the high-altitude route.
