Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday conducted an aerial survey of Silai Band and Ojri Band along the Yamunotri road in Uttarkashi district after heavy rainfall triggered landslides in the Himalayan state. He was accompanied by Bharatiya Janata Party state president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt. State officials said the landslides killed two people and injured two others, while blocking sections of the route used by pilgrims travelling to the Yamunotri shrine. Rescue and road-clearing teams have been deployed, and the government is assessing additional measures to restore traffic and ensure the safety of residents and pilgrims.
