Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been actively involved in preparations for the Kanwar Mela 2025, holding multiple high-level review meetings in Dehradun and Haridwar. These meetings included top state officials such as the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP). Dhami emphasized strict verification campaigns across all districts, continuous vigilance at state borders, and the use of CCTV monitoring to ensure law and order and disaster management during the pilgrimage. Concurrently, Uttar Pradesh authorities, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Secretary, and DGP, have conducted high-level meetings in Meerut, Lucknow, and other districts to coordinate security and route management for the Kanwar Yatra. Officials from Haryana also participated in interstate discussions. Police deployments are planned for 24/7 duty along the routes, with local police stations, municipalities, and village heads engaged to prevent inconveniences to pilgrims. District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police in Uttar Pradesh districts such as Bhadohi, Firozabad, Bareilly, and Prayagraj reported thorough inspections and coordination to resolve any issues on the pilgrimage routes. The preparations aim to ensure a smooth, safe, and well-managed Kanwar Yatra starting from July 10, 2025. Earlier, Dhami also attended the Space Technology and Applications Conference themed 'Developed India 2047' in Dehradun, highlighting his active role in state development initiatives.
