Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday inaugurated the three-day Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival 2025 in Lucknow, pledging to turn the state into a global hub for premium mango exports. The event, running from 4–6 July, showcases more than two dozen local mango varieties, honours progressive growers and exporters, and promotes the state’s ‘world-class’ produce under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader push to expand agricultural exports. Adityanath said government subsidy programmes and new infrastructure—including four pack houses in Lucknow, Amroha, Saharanpur and Varanasi—have enabled mango shipments by air cargo to two overseas markets, allowing farmers to capture international prices. The chief minister also linked the festival to a wider afforestation drive, noting a sharp increase in sapling availability since 2017, and urged growers to capitalise on rising demand to lift rural incomes.
