Tesla has started road tests of its "Full Self-Driving (Supervised)" software in Japan, according to a report by Nikkei. The initial phase involves company employees using the system, which is delivered through an over-the-air update to existing vehicles. The U.S. carmaker intends to extend the software to Japanese customers once regulators sign off, marking one of its first deployments of the supervised version of FSD outside North America. Tesla has not provided a launch timetable, but the company says the broader release will come through a standard software update to compatible cars.

This video, which was on $TSLA's website for yrs, states the driver is in the driver's seat only for legal purposes and the car is driving itself. Based on testimony from $TSLA's then director of Autopilot Software (A. Elluswamy), the video was staged/not accurate. https://t.co/cajCBm3eES https://t.co/Ig06u6rost
