Boniface Kariuki, a mask vendor who was shot in the head by police during protests in Nairobi's Central Business District on June 17, 2025, was laid to rest in Kangema, Murang’a County on July 11, 2025. His body arrived at his parents' home in Kangema before the burial commenced at Kanda grounds in Iyego, Kangema Constituency.
