The Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) has commenced construction of its new dual headquarters at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) in Nairobi. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Kenyan President William Ruto, who emphasized integrating climate adaptation into public service to foster institutional transformation for climate-responsive governance. Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku met with senior GCA leaders ahead of the event, including GCA Chairperson and former Senegalese President Macky Sall, as well as the GCA CEO. The centre aims to serve as a symbol of global commitment to climate resilience and sustainable development. Nairobi’s selection as the host city for the GCA headquarters highlights its growing role in international climate action efforts.
