CS Mutahi Kagwe: Gen Zs did not torch police stations, loot NCPB stores during June 25th protests https://t.co/ujlHay4dUT
Kenyan Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe warned that organised criminal gangs are infiltrating the recent Gen Z-driven demonstrations, using the gatherings as cover to loot businesses and damage public infrastructure. Speaking during a tour of Nakuru County on 4 July, Kagwe said the incidents amounted to acts of anarchy that undermined otherwise lawful protests protected by the constitution. Kagwe dismissed earlier claims that young demonstrators torched police stations or looted National Cereals and Produce Board stores during the 25 June marches, asserting that such crimes were carried out by opportunistic groups unaffiliated with the protest organisers. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and protect property, and called on the Interior Ministry to take ‘decisive action’ to prevent further disruption and safeguard national stability.
